SHOPPING boosts the economy of any town, and Velez-Malaga Council is aiming to encourage customers to shop local.

The Velez-Malaga Council together with the business association from the town have launched an informative campaign with the aim of encouraging people to make their purchases in local establishments, under the title, “Buy in your city, the money stays in your city.”

Commerce and Industry Councillor Ana Campo, together with head of the Association of Business Owners of Velez-Malaga, Manuel Roberto, and representing Torre del Mar businesses, Manuel Frutos Segovia, explained that at least 500 posters would be distributed across the participating businesses of the town.

“One of the main goals of the local government is to boost the small businesses of the town, which have been working for years and overcoming financial difficulties,” said Ms Campos.

“This campaign is modern, strong, clear and striking, created with the goal of raising awareness amongst citizens on the importance of buying in local businesses,” said Manuel Roberto.
