MALAGA Province public hospitals have registered a waiting time of just 48 days for the 71 most common surgical procedures, for which the Health Board guarantees a maximum wait of 120 days.
The figure was revealed in a report published by the Health Board with data up to June 30 this year, which also stated that for the remaining 700 operations the 209/2001 decree establishes a maximum wait of 180 days for the average wait in the province was just 57 days, one month less than in the rest of Spain.
Meanwhile the average wait for a first consultation with a specialist in the province was reported to be 45 days, compared to 65 days for the National Health System while the average wait for tests was 17 days.
The number of people waiting to see a specialist has fallen to 4,584 people compared to figures for June 30, 2104.
People wishing to receive information on their place on surgical waiting lists can do so by contacting Salud Responde on 902 505 060, the Andalucian Health Service explained.
