Santa Pola parents protest lack of disability-adapted swings

DISABLED SWINGS: calls for better park facilities for disabled children in Santa Pola.

PARENTS of disabled children in Santa Pola are complaining about the lack of playground facilities suitable for their children.

For most, a trip to the park is a simple outing, but for families with disabled children the task is more complicated and parents are denouncing the lack of adapted swings in the municipality.

One mother living in Gran Alacant said: “The only thing I’m asking is that my six-year-old son can play in the park like any other kid his age.”

Swings for children with disabilities are available and normally have an adapted seat with a backrest which allows children to swing safely and securely.

The mother said before the elections they were promised them but now it seems they have been forgotten.
