SHORT FILMS: Santa Pola Town Hall officials launch the Short Film Contest for 2015.
THE third edition of Santa Pola’s Short Film Contest has been launched. To mark the success of the previous two competitions, the event has now been opened up to invite entries from any youngster aged 18 and under, registered and living in the Alicante Province and not just in Santa Pola.
Councillor Lorenzo Cervera, said the contest “is social in character, because cinema is a great tool to publicise the problems that cross families and individuals.”
It is this social aspect that holds the category within the initiative, inviting films to be entered reflecting on social behaviours and gender equality.
Antonio Lopez, coordinator of Raco Jove which his running the edition, said that “2014 had a higher level than the first edition and by opening the range of entries from local to provincial, we hope that 2015 will see again an increase in the level of work entered.”
The winning short film will receive €350 with runners-up prizes of between €150-200.
Work can be entered directly by emailing racojove@santapola.es where a private link will be sent where work can be uploaded.
The deadline for short films is November 4 and the winners will be announced following screenings and a gala dinner on December 10 and 11.
