ENDESA electricity company has agreed to spend €900,000 on improvements to the network in Nijar to avoid more power cuts, the council has announced.
Mayor Esperanza Perez Felices met Endesa’s Almeria representative Juan de la Cruz last week to discuss the situation following recent power cuts and de la Cruz agreed that the money would be spent on infrastructure to improve the quality of services provided.
The company representative also said that Endesa would consider compensation for San Jose businesses that have lodged complaints, although he maintained that cuts were caused by chance rather than any known faults.
