David and Victoria Beckham say Adios

WHEN he left Real Madrid to join LA Galaxy in 2007, David Beckham still owned a five-bedroomed mansion in the Madrid suburb of La Moraleja, which he and Victoria have just sold eight years later for a significant profit, to a wealthy Spanish businessman.

The house cost them £3 million in 2005 and having spent a further £350,000 on refurbishment, he and Victoria only had a few years to enjoy the two-storey building set in its own grounds with a pool, small football pitch and tennis court.

Unlike many other people, the Beckhams didn´t have to worry too much about the sale of the property and they went on to buy a villa in Beverly Hills, a modest holiday home worth £2.5 million in the South of France and another property in Dubai. When they returned to the UK, their new ´Beckingham Palace´ set them back about £30 million but it is in the centre of London with seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms.

With the fall in property prices in Spain after their move to the US and their inability to rent the property to another Real Madrid player, the canny couple kept hold of it and now, nearly 10 years after the initial purchase, they have sold the property for over £4 million.
