Velez-Malaga is gearing up for a sleepless night

VELEZ-MALAGA is gearing up for a sleepless night (La Noche en Vela), to take place on August 21 all across the town.

The Nuestra Señora de Gracia Monastery is to host a flamenco guitar concert by Rafael Nuñez from 9.30pm to 11pm. In addition, participants will be able to enjoy guided visits around the facilities from 8.30pm to 9.30pm.

The Real Convento de Santiago, a convent which was constructed back in the 16th century and is the oldest one of its kind in Malaga, will host a violin and flute classical concert starting at 10pm.

Many other cultural activities will take place in venues at the Casa Cervantes, Palacio de Beniel and outdoor events will take place at the Plaza de la Constitucion, Plaza de las Carmelitas and Plaza del Carmen, until late at night.

A free bus service from Torre del Mar to Velez-Malaga has been launched from 8.30pm until 2.30am departing from the station every hour.
