CLEANING works will be immediate and on demand with a new service launched by the Velez-Malaga town council.

The new system has been designed to immediately act upon the demands of residents when they spot a cleaning issue in any public area of the town.

The response team will be made up of a total of 10 workers, head of department Marcelino Mendez-Trelles explained. He added that all residents could call the free number 900 702 703 whenever they deemed it necessary.

“Thanks to this measure we will be able to provide an immediate response to cleaning issues anywhere in our area,” said Mr Mendez-Trelles.

“We at the town council ask all residents and business owners of the town to work together, especially during the summer period, so that they use the waste collection service when needed as well as respect the set schedule to deposit waste in the town bins.”
