Update: British boy who drowned in tragic Mijas incident is named

A FOUR-year-old British boy who drowned in the pool of a Mijas Costa villa while on holiday on Sunday evening (August 16) has been named as Refoel Berkovits.

The boys’ parents Moses and Dena have reportedly flown back to the UK, where an Orthodox Jewish funeral is believed to have been held.

Referred to by family friends as lovely people and pillars of the community, the couple reportedly have four other children and are devastated following the tragic accident.

A FOUR-year-old boy who drowned in Mijas Golf on Sunday (August 16) was of British nationality and fell into a pool while playing in the garden of a rented villa.
The boy is reported to have been running round the pool with a group of older children while their parents, a group of more than 20 people, were gathered at the house on Calle Oviedo for a dinner party.
One of the children, a 15-year-old boy, raised the alarm and a guest who was a doctor tried to revive the young boy before an ambulance arrived, yet nothing could be done to save his life.
A post mortem examination is to be carried out at the Legal Medicine Institute in Malaga City.
