THE number of people killed in one of Spain’s most deadly summers of bull running reached 10 on Sunday (August 23), when a man in his 40’s died in the Valencia Region.
The unnamed man died from his injuries in hospital after he was gored on Saturday at the bull running festival in Borriol, near Castellon de la Plana. The town cancelled any further festivities in the wake of the incident.
The death toll this year matches the record set in 2009, but many more towns are yet to hold their bull runs as fiesta season continues through the end of August into September.
