BEIRUT SINGER: Zach Condon in concert.
BEIRUT, an American indie band, are about to release their fourth album, No.No,No which contains their latest single ‘Gibraltar’.
Written by Zach Condon, the singer and trumpet player with the band who was apparently suffering from a breakdown as he was facing a divorce and exhaustion, the single is accompanied by a video from Brother Willis.
The story of the song and the images of the video depict the band and singer searching for clean and sandy beaches whilst Gibraltar is depicted as an area of grey landfill. Despite this apparently negative view, the song does have a positive underlying message and there is no doubt that the video itself is a piece of art.
