THEIR Majesties King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia will be making an official visit to the USA between September 14 and 18.

Although, the King has met President Obama before, this is the first time that he and the Queen have been invited to the White House.

The provisional programme shows that on September 15, they will attend a floral ceremony at Mount Vernon cemetery and will then travel to the White House to meet with the President.

On the next day, they will attend a breakfast at the Spanish Embassy in Washington, arranged by ICEX Spanish Exports and Investments, for American businesses that have invested in Spain. This will be followed by a meeting with Spanish and American scientists at Georgetown University.

They then fly to Florida for an event at the Miami-Dade University and the final day of their visit sees them travel to San Augustin which is celebrating its 450th Anniversary and is hosting a Spain-United States Forum. At this event only, they will be joined by José Manuel García Margallo, Spain’s Foreign Minister.
