MALAGA Council wants to resume the construction of municipal car parks in the city. The financial crisis slowed down the implementation pace of these works due to the low amount of finished spaces sold.

There are those that consider these types of infrastructures detrimental to the use of public transport, but the Municipal Parking and Services Association (SMASSA) affirmed that “the new spaces will reduce environmental pollution by reducing drivers’ travelling time.”

SMASSA is currently working on a strategic plan to place the new constructions that are expected to be present in Malaga’s 11 districts, including the historical centre.
