Torrox
A 92-YEAR-OLD man died after being carried underneath his daughter’s car while he was stepping into the vehicle.
Authorities reported that the accident took place in Calle Neptuno (Torrox). The woman had parked the car in the street, which has a steep slope. The vehicle started moving downhill just as the man was stepping into it with the help of his daughter. The woman was able to get away but the man was trapped between the car and its door and was dragged for about 10 metres. His injuries seemed to be minor originally. However, the man sadly died a few hours later in the Axarquia regional hospital.
Local and National Police are currently investigating if the car started moving due to faulty brakes or a mistake when applying the handbrake.
