Group of suspected hitmen caught on Costa

A POLICE operation has led to the arrest of seven people allegedly on the Costa del Sol to fulfil a contract to kill a Marbella businessman and his two bodyguards.

The arrests were made in a La Cala de Mijas home, where a well-known Colombian contract killer known as Snoopy was caught along with another six people, two of them underage minors.

Police investigations began last year and the group was tracked down after travelling to the Costa allegedly following orders from Colombian drug cartels to kill the businessman and his bodyguards for more than €30,000 per victim.

The group, the National Police force reported, intended to use a common method in Colombia which uses minors to pull the trigger, as in the case of being caught the law is more lenient with them, and fast motorbikes for getaways.

After the arrests two homes were searched, one in La Cala and one in Madrid, and two pistols, two automatic rifles, ammunition, €1,000 in cash, two powerful motorbikes, two cars and electronic equipment were confiscated.
