Canadian fugitive arrested in Marbella

A WOMAN wanted by the Canadian authorities for alleged theft and fraud has been arrested in Marbella.

The National Police force reported that Canada had issued an arrest warrant for the 55-year-old woman, suspected of stealing more than five million Canadian dollars (€3.3 million) and investigations on the force’s part led to her being tracked down in a Marbella urbanisation.

The Canadian authorities believe she created a false company and used it to invoice the company she worked for as a manager, pocketing the money, some of which she allegedly invested in property.
