Sea Festival in La Herradura

LA Herradura will host the third edition of the Sea Festival, scheduled to be celebrated on October 2 and 3. The event will be organised by the Costa Tropical Sea Friends, with the collaboration of the Almuñecar Council, with the slogan “The Sea: The Jewel of All my Treasures.”

Head of the Association, Anne Zipse, together with La Herradura Deputy Major Luis Joya and other council representatives, presented the event.

She explained that the event is a mainly cultural one, with parades on October 2 at 9.15am at the School, Las Gaviotas. There will also be workshops at 10am in the central beach area. The next day, at 2.30pm, guests will be able to enjoy a dish of paella at Plaza Nueva and before that, at 1.30pm, there will be a ‘water percussion’ performance. On Friday, there will be a workshop in English on the jellyfish of the Costa Tropical at 7pm and for the whole weekend there are discounts available in windsurfing activities at the Open Water Diving Centre, Buceo Natura, Jellyfish Research Southern Spain and Puerto Marina del Este.

“The phrase references the sea, as it is the most precious feature of our area, and ‘our treasures’ means the children, because we want them to be aware that they are the future guardians of this place. This year, the event is very focused on children,” said Ms Zipse.
