Mourinho demands more of players
AFTER a below par start in the Premier League Jose Mourinho has questioned the “unstable attitude” of some Chelsea players.
Chelsea won last season’s Premier League however they are now placed 14th after seven games.
“There are two sorts of champions,” Mourinho said on Monday September 28. “There are champions who win something – and there are lots of them – but there are the other champions who during their career win one, two, three, four, five, 10 or 20 titles.”
The Portuguese is addressing the five games out of seven his team did not win so far this season, despite finishing eight points clear of runners-up Manchester City the previous season.
“Clearly it’s an attitude perspective of some individuals,” he went on to say.
“And when you have individuals with that unstable attitude in terms of motivation, desire and commitment you will pay.”
Chelsea face Mourinho’s former club Porto in the Champions League on Tuesday September 29.
