THE SOS Animal Foundation in Calvia organised an event to mark its 20th anniversary and raise funds.
The Deputy Mayor, Antonio Garcia, gave them a plaque in recognition for the work they have carried out with the town hall, and the Councillor for Commerce and the Environment, Paquita Muñoz, was a judge in the pet competition.
THE non-profit association, SOS Animal, was founded in 1995 and is currently located in Calvia. Since 1998 they have worked in collaboration with Calvia Town Hall which has allowed them to save most of the animals taken to the local pound and in 2008, the town hall provided the association with land for its facilities, which they hope to enlarge. They also aim to carry out campaigns to raise awareness of the importance of caring for animals and hope for more funding so that staff can be hired.
