A MAN, 40, and a woman, 38, both gypsies, were arrested by National Police for stealing items from patients in Son Llatzer Hospital.
A woman told security guards at the hospital that she had seen a man leaving her room and then found her handbag, containing €250, and a gold chain was missing.
They called the police and after the victim had given them a description, the officers combed the hospital until they found the man, who was also a patient, and his wife. She was carrying a mobile phone which had been reported stolen by another patient. The man was taken to Son Espases Hospital where there is a section for detained patients.
