Three fatal cases of alleged domestic violence in Spain in less than three days

THREE women have been confirmed dead on Tuesday October 6 in separate incidents of alleged domestic violence in less than 72 hours.

In the first case the body of a 39-year-old woman was found in Erandio, a town in the Basque country, with signs of violence. The discovery was made in her partner’s home after her family reported her missing on Sunday October 4. Her partner was subsequently detained by Local Police.

In Beniel, Murcia, the Guardia Civil has taken over an investigation into the death of a 23-year-old woman originally from Mali. The woman was the victim of an assault and her partner was arrested in connection with the murder. Her death was caused by trauma resulting from a blow to the head. The incident took place in the home of the woman and her partner where they lived with two children aged four and seven.

Police in Vigo are investigating another case where a 33-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her partner on Monday, a 54-year-old man. Both were Portuguese and a suicide note left by the man indicates that he may have been responsible for her death before taking his own life.

Another woman is in a serious condition after being stabbed several times, allegedly by her ex-husband, at a supermarket in Zamora Morales del Vino. The woman is in her 70s and her ex-husband is a resident of a nursing home in Zamora.
