MOST of Spain is in for a wet bank holiday weekend thanks to the end of hurricane Joaquin, which will reach the country in the form of storms on Friday night (October 9.)
Eltiempo.es weather site has forecast showers and storms for Friday for the coastal areas of Valencia, Alicante, Murcia and Almeria, although the rest of the country should see sunshine and little cloud cover.
On Friday afternoon cloud is expected to start building up in Galicia and showers are expected in the evening and into Saturday. Temperatures are expected to rise slightly in the north west.
For Saturday eltiempo.es has forecast heavy rain in Galicia, Asturias, Castilla y Leon and parts of Extremadura. Clouds will build up in the western half of the country during the day and Menorca and Mallorca may receive showers. Temperatures are due to rise slightly, especially in the east.
On Sunday and Monday rain is forecast for most of the country and is expected to be particularly heavy in the north and northeast.
