THE National Police has arrested a 50-year-old man in Estepona who was wanted by the authorities in Germany for drug trafficking.
Investigations began, police reported, when the German authorities informed them that the man could be hiding in Malaga and he was tracked down at a home near Estepona.
The European arrest and extradition order issued by a German court stated he was wanted to face up to 15 years in jail for organising so-called go fast drug deliveries, consisting in using powerful fast cards to drive drugs to their destination as quickly as possible.
The German authorities were alerted to the offence in June 2013 when a car carrying 42 kilos of hashish from Spain to Finland broke down in Germany and was confiscated by the police.
The arrestee has been taken to the National Court to await extradition.
