Food bank calls for Costa del Sol expat help

BANCOSOL food bank is calling for Costa del Sol expatriates to sign up to volunteer for its annual Gran Recogida food drive at the end of November.

This year, a goal of 750,000 kilos of food has been set and an estimated 5,000 volunteers are needed to help out at supermarkets all across the province on November 27 and 28.

Although many have volunteered already, explained event organizer Manuel Alarcon, the Costa del Sol is a complicated area due to the number of shops that take part and English and French speaking people are desperately needed to help out.
