Woman arrested in Torremolinos for making false accusations

A WOMAN has been arrested in Torremolinos for falsely accusing an acquaintance of sexual abuse.

The 36-year-old woman presented an official report at the Torremolinos-Benalmadena police station, the National Police force reported, providing all sorts of details of a sexual attack. She reported that the man had asked her to go to his home to fix a TV decoder as a favour and then tried to take advantage.

Investigators began to find discrepancies in her story and, when confronted, the woman admitted that she had made the story up because her boyfriend was pestering her for getting home late.

The police force later complained at the waste of resources, material and time which could all have been spent investigating real crimes.
