ONE month after the new school year began, children in need in Malaga Province have started to receive their free afternoon snack bags at school.
The bags, containing fruit, juice, bread, sandwich fillers and biscuits, were eagerly awaited by families in need, who thanks to the regional government funded SYGA scheme obtain three free meals per day for their children.
Although it took a month for deliveries to start, leading to a number of complaints, this year they began much quicker than for the 2014-2015 school year, when none appeared until January.
