SATSE nursing union is calling for immediate solutions to a lack of lighting reported by nurses at Malaga’s Materno Infantil children’s hospital following recent renovation work.
Although it is entirely in favour of renovations of old facilities to improve quality of service and working conditions, the union announced, it cannot praise what it refers to as a “lick and a promise, due either to lack of funds or lack of planning.”
Nurses have complained that, following renovations of the second floor’s gynaecological oncology day centre rooms, they are having to put drips in, administer treatments and observe patients relying on daylight coming from windows and weak bulbs in headboards, as no ceiling lights have been installed.
