Better furniture collection system announced

PALMA’S municipal refuse collection company has announced that as of December 1 a new system will be put into place for old furniture collection.

Whereas in the past this was done by appointment only, leading to people dumping unwanted items on the streets when they were unable to obtain appointments, as of December 1 there will be a set day for collection in each district.

On the designated day, residents will be able to put their items out for collection between 8pm and 10.30pm. Those caught dumping items outside the hours or on other days of the week may face fines of between €300 and €900,
