Police officers patrolling Main Street
THREE Romanian men, all in their twenties, were spotted acting suspiciously as they went in and out of a number of shops in Main Street and were arrested by officers of the Royal Gibraltar Police.
Once stopped and searched, it transpired that they were carrying bags lined with aluminium which they were said to believe would shield any security protected goods that they stole from setting off alarm systems by exits.
Upon appearance in court, all three pleaded guilty to charges of ‘going equipped for theft’ and each has been jailed for three weeks.
