COSTA DEL SOL hoteliers and workers are breathing sighs of relief this week as the IMSERSO subsidised holiday programme for the elderly, which allows many hotels to stay open over the winter season, has finally been given the go-ahead after worrying delays.
The programme, which this year is due to provide affordable holidays for almost one million retirees in Spain, had been tied up due to battles between rival travel companies wishing to obtain the two-year contract for the service but approval was announced on Tuesday (October 27).
