HOSPITAL MEETING: A raft of improvements was announced
AS of January, Motril’s Santa Ana Hospital will have a new rheumatology department, which will avoid people having to go all the way to Granada City to see a specialist, the local mayor has announced.
Motril is the third hospital in Andalucia to introduce the specialty, Andalucian Health Service head Jose Manuel Garcia announced, and the hospital will also be receiving a new CT scan machine next year, which will mean patients no longer have to go to Malaga City for tests.
The hospital will be going green next year as the Junta de Andalucia regional government has spent €2 million on solar panels and better energy systems. Mayor Flor Almon and Andalucian Health Service head Jose Manuel Garcia announced the news at a meeting with various local health association representatives.
