BLACKBERRY recently launched its first Android operated smartphone.
The company, which struggled with attracting customers to its own operating system on its BB10 phone, has launched a new approach to change things.
Blackberry said its new device, Priv, will offer customers improved security over rival Android handsets.
Francisco Jeronimo, research director for industry analysts IDC said: “Coming with a device that tries to address security on Android is a good idea, but may have been better three years ago.”
He added: “It will be difficult to regain clients who have already moved to other handsets, and it’s quite an expensive device.”
