NEARLY 157,000 TalkTalk customers’ details were accessed in the cyber attack that happened on October 21 on the UK telecoms website.

The company released more details on the attack saying more than 15,600 bank account numbers and sort codes were stolen.

The UK service provider continues to urge customers to protect their personal data from scam email and phone calls.

Earlier this week, police released a 16-year-old boy on bail, the fourth person to be arrested in connection with the cyber hack.

TalkTalk confirmed the attack was “much more limited than initially suspected”, however, the firm’s shares have lost about a third of their value since the attack.

The firm added that about 28,000 stolen credit and debit card numbers were also “obscured” and “can not be used for financial transactions.”

The company will contact further affected customers “within the coming days.”
