New school year for over 50s in Motril

THE new academic year has started for the University of Granada’s Classes for the Elderly in Motril.

At an event to mark the start of the new year, deputy mayor Francisco Sanchez Catalejo told the students: “Your interest in acquiring new knowledge is magnificent. When we decide to study and continue feeding our curiosity what we’re really doing is pushing old age away. This University of Granada project encourages us to put our age to one side and feel young again.”

The project was launched by the university more than 20 years ago and more than 50 people aged 50 or over take part each year.
