THE Tourism department has been carrying out a major promotional campaign this week in Valencia and Murcia to attract visitors to La Herradura and Almuñecar.
Tourism Councillor Rafael Caballero explained that the campaign, part of the 2015 Promotion Plan, was running in Valencia, Murcia and Alicante cities, which are producing increasing numbers of tourists to the area.
“Over three busy working days, our representatives made contact with more than 300 travel agents in the cities who were introduced to everything the area has to offer as a destination,” Caballero explained.
This type of campaign, the councillor said, are very important as they put agents directly in touch with representatives who can list the destination’s attractions.
“With very little spending we’re going to inform almost all the travel agents in an area with a population of more than 5.8 million people on our destination, a privileged place for getaways, short breaks and longer holidays,” the councillor stated.
