PROVISIONAL SOLUTION: Cables have been brought in from other areas which have no deficiencies.
AFTER five weeks in the dark, residents of s’Illot have light again thanks to a provisional solution until works are completed.
This has been possible thanks to the new team in office in Manacor Town Hall. The delegate for Porto Cristo, Joan Gomila, said after the vote of no confidence, they were seeking a solution because residents couldn’t be expected to live without light until work is completed at the end of the year.
The former team revised the state of public lighting which revealed severe problems and required immediate actions for safety.
Work began nearly a month ago and electricity was cut off. Cables are being brought in from areas with no deficiencies.
