Coastal walkway plans in Alicante

Alicante Town Hall has proposed a 20 kilometre wooden coastal walkway development project to lead from the beach of San Juan and running through the Cabo de la Huertas.

It will connect with the dunes at el Altet, with Mayor Echavarri assuring residents that the project will be fully respectful of the environment especially because the area is classified as protected, using natural pathways on the coast that already exist and installing wooden walkways where none exist.

Support for the project has been unanimous and it is said to be a low cost project, although there have been some objections over the section that leads through the Cabo de Huertas.
