Crystal Serenity cruise company, Crystal Cruises, has made its first visit to the port of Alicante. Tying up at Pier 14 next to the cruise terminal the liner, with 1,100 passengers and 655 staff on board, docked after visiting Valencia while on its journey to Gibraltar.
Crystal Cruises have operated all-inclusive cruises globally, since 1990, including throughout the Mediterranean and have been awarded many times for their high quality service and luxury.
During the visit the captain was given a traditional metope as a memento of the ship’s first arrival in the port.
The port in Alicante has been gradually clawing back the numbers of cruise passengers and ships coming into dock, after many years of serious decline. In the last year in particular, it has started to see some improvement but still falls short of the numbers of liners sailing into neighbouring Valencia and Cartagena.
