NATIVITY SCENE: Mijas is holding its traditional competition.
FOR the 18th year running, Mijas will be holding its traditional nativity scene competition this year.
The competition is divided into three categories, one for groups, clubs and associations, another for schools and a third for individual people or families, Culture councillor Santiago Martin announced. Those interested in taking part in the competition, which aims to encourage locals to keep up the tradition of setting up and showing off their nativity scenes, have until December 11, to sign up at Casa Museo or the Casa de Cultura in Las Lagunas or La Cala and must provide their address and state the age of the participant.
Mijas TV cameras will be going round from December 12 to 21 filming the scenes and a documentary will be made up, which participants will receive a copy of along with diplomas at a ceremony at the town hall on December 29.
