Tackling cyber bullies in Alicante

CONFERENCE: Was attended by parents, teachers and heads of schools.

La Nucia, Alicante have presented their second conference on Cyber Bullying, a form of bullying that has become a great concern to parents and authorities alike in recent years as more and more young people use social networks and the internet.

The conference organised in La Nucia was attended by parents, teachers and heads of the schools in the town, an initiative that had been created in response to the demand for local parents and school teachers in an effort to provide useful tools and knowledge on how to combat this form of emotional abuse.

The project includes workshops, lectures and conferences, which have been designed for both parents and children as well as the education department and includes speakers such as local Police chiefs, psychologists and social media experts and members of the local council.

Due to the success and good reception among participants the incentive will be extended into the first quarter of 2016 with more towns getting involved.

Problem is many kids don’t know that once an image is out, it can *never* be taken back. It is forever.

That’s why things more tools and apps are needed. Local police recommended setting Parental Controls tighter and using apps like SendItInstead or Selfiecop. I have done it all – it help me negotiate this experiment we are doing on our kids!.
