CHRISTMAS came early this year for 16 associations in Estepona, which have seen their funds increase as December arrived thanks to grants from the council.
These grants are paid each year and have this year amounted to a total of €50,150. The money will be spent on equipment and materials, maintenance work on premises or users’ help schemes.
The grants were handed over personally by the local mayor, who praised the associations for the essential work they do in the community with disabled people and others in need.
Next year, the council has included €287,000 in its budgets for social aid projects, 44 per cent more than in 2015.
