ROAD IMPROVEMENTS: Project includes a new pedestrian promenade and widening the pavement.
This week the town of Ses Salines considered proposed improvements to the Ma-6100 road which goes from the town to neighbouring Colonia Sant Jordi.
The proposals were presented by the Councillor for Territory and Infrastructure, Mercedes Garrido to the Mayor, Bernat Roig earlier this week. Other members of the town council were present to hear what improvements were planned.
The project includes a pedestrian promenade which will be two metres wide, linking the two towns. In addition, the pavement would be wider so cyclists can travel there more safely.
The final decision is pending approval of the Plenary Council but beforehand the environmental impact study has to be made by the Balear Commission for the Environment. Guard promised that this study would be shared with residents of both towns to keep them informed of the plans.
