I was better at Spurs – Bale

REAL MADRID forward Gareth Bale has confessed he doesn´t know why he isn´t the same player he was at Tottenham: “I don’t know why. [La Liga] is a different League to the Premier League. It’s a different style of football and perhaps that’s the reason”.

The Welshman has had his problems with injuries since joining Los Blancos (The Whites), but has scored in his last two games, including Saturday’s 4-1 victory over Getafe, but he´s clearly frustrated at not hitting the performance levels he showed playing for Spurs and which persuaded Real Madrid to pay a world record fee for him.

“I feel good. We played well as a team in the first half and scored four goals, and we ended with a victory,” he said after the game.

“I’m happy with my season so far. I’ve had some injuries, but now I’m back to my best and I feel good about my performances.”

On his preferred position Bale said: “any position, whether it be on the right, left or middle”. He also took time to comment on the rumours that he doesn´t get on with Cristiano Ronaldo:

“[My relationship with Cristiano Ronaldo] is very good, and I’ve heard many stories which aren’t true.

He’s one of the best players in the world. Is he the best? It depends on your opinion, but he’s a great, great player.”
