MADRID-born actress Angela Molina, 60, has a star in Almeria’s Walk of Fame. She is the first woman with a star which awards her for her participation in three films which brought her to Almeria.
In 1989, she starred in musical ‘Las Cosas del Querer,’ for which she was nominated for a Goya; in 1991 she was in Alain Tanner’s ‘The Man who Lost his Shadow,’ and in 2001, she was in Karl Francis’s ‘One of the Hollywood Ten.’
She was accompanied at the event by the President of Almeria Provincial Government, Gabriel Amat, and Almeria Mayor, Ramon Fernandez-Pacheco.
Molina has been nominated for a Goya on five occasions and has won the San Sebastian Silver Shell. She has worked in Spain, Italy and France and one of Spain’s best paid actresses. She is currently working on a film in South America and says she is as much in love with her job as she has always been.
She said that Almeria is an “extraordinary” place with “great potential” and that she was happy to have her name for posterity in one of Europe’s most important film locations.
She thanked the people of Almeria for their gratitude and said that great talents will come from the film festival, which she said she was proud to be a part of.
