Daring to dream is a firm Mojacar tradition and now even the ONCE lottery has been seduced by its sleepy charm.
The Almeria town will be the star of the show on December 27, when the winning ticket in the charity lottery, now in its 78th year, will feature an image of the town. Almeria has been doubly lucky with Lucainena de las Torres represented on the winning ticket for December 20, giving residents hope of catching the big prize.
Almeria was first choice for the new ‘Most Beautiful Villages’ series set up to bring in 2016 by the popular lottery, which has dedicated decades to helping the blind.
ONCE director for Almeria, Pascual Gualda, Mayor of Lucainena de las Torres, Juan Herrera Segura, and Mojacar Mayor, Rosa Maria Cano Montoya, all took part in a ceremony to present the tickets, which will carry Almeria’s beauty across Spain.
