ON DECEMBER 21 agents of the National Police in a series of raids arrested 22 people in north Alicante and San Vicente del Raspeig all of whom are accused of being involved in the sale of a range of drugs.

The officers have seized more than half a kilo of cocaine, 330 grams of marijuana buds, 12 grams of heroin and nearly €13,000 together with a revolver, a pistol and ammunition.

The actual investigation was first initiated more than a year ago, when agents learned that a criminal group had arrived in an area of Torregrosa where they were engaged in sales of mainly cocaine and heroin.

A pair of twins was considered to be the ringleaders who used other members of the gang’s homes to store the drugs whilst they stored the cash earned from their sales. The officers raided five houses, three in Villafranqueza, one in San Vicente del Raspeig and one in Alicante all of which were heavily fortified and it was in these houses that the drugs, firearms and money were found.

The operation was carried out by officers of the Police Northern District Alicante.
