THE ALCAZABA: Most of the monument has been closed after part of a wall collapsed.
A SPOKESPERSON for the ‘Friends of the Alcazaba’ Association has reported that there was less activity than ever for the monument in 2015.
In May, most of the monument was closed after part of the southern wall collapsed, which was blamed on the Junta de Andalucia failing to invest in the upkeep of the structure.
The association reports that in 2009 a plan was approved for the regional government to improve and promote the monument, but that so far, nothing has been done towards research, lighting, promotion or improving it.
