OPEN SPACE: Children do not need to be students of the schools to make use of the provisions.
FROM this week children will once again be able to use the open spaces and sports facilities of three schools in Benidorm after classes and at weekends.
The three schools, Aitana, Vasco Nunez de Balboa and Els Tolls, had to stop opening the facilities out of school hours last year because there was a lack of janitors.
The programme, called Espai Obert (Open Space), means that the facilities at these schools will once again be open during the week from 4.30pm to 8.30pm, and on Saturdays from 10am to 2pm.
The children, who do not need to be students of the school in order to make use of the provision, will be supervised by municipal staff.
Last week the Association of Parents of Students of Els Tolls school delivered a petition with 260 signatures to the council, calling for the reopening of the facilities.
