THE town council of Marbella will have its own stand at the International Tourism Fair (Feria Internacional de Turismo – FITUR) in Madrid, which runs from Wednesday (January 20) to Sunday. The stand will feature a new promotional model for the city and will be sponsored by local businesses.

The new town council wanted to start off the year by marking the difference between itself and the tourism policy of its predecessor. As part of this campaign, the council has come up with a new logo and slogan, which will be presented at a dinner in Madrid the night before FITUR kicks off.

This presentation will take place in the Museo del Traje, and is expected to include more than 150 guests including ambassadors, members of the consular body of the Costa del Sol, and personalities from the world of art and entertainment.

The Marbella stand has been constructed in Marbella itself and will be moved to Madrid prior to the start of the fair.

The presence of the city in FITUR will have a cost of €18,000, a quantity which will be fully covered by the sponsorship of many local businesses, including hotels, restaurants and golf courses.
