BEATING Barcelona, the Balearic Islands registered the highest number of cruise ships visiting Spanish ports in 2015. While most ports saw a tremendous increase in passenger traffic, the Balearics excelled with the arrival of 773 cruise ships compared to Barcelona on 723, and Las Palmas on 447.
The nation as a whole witnessed a very positive year with approaching eight million passengers arriving on Spanish ports, representing an impressive increase of 10.4 per cent on 2014. More than 3,500 cruise ships docked in Spain during the first 11 months of the year.
